When picking your wedding color scheme you may find an item that inspires you like a colorful bouquet, a pretty bridesmaid dress, or in today’s brides case, a slate blue tuxedo. When our bride, Karen, spotted these dashing blue lovelies she was knew she had to have them for her groom & his guys. And I can see why, they are absolutely fabulous, especially paired with mustard yellow bridesmaid dresses! Pair the slate blue & mustard yellow with nautical rustic elements, accented in pretty yellow, blue & white wildflowers, & airy baby’s breath, and you have simple elegance that’s oh-so pretty.
Thanks a bunch LeAnna Theresa Photography for sending this adorable wedding my way!
From the Bride, Karen:
How did you meet?
Todd and I met through mutual friends. They decided it would be good for us to meet. They were right. We have talked everyday since we met. He’s my best friend.
What were your Wedding Planning Inspiration and Style?
I’m not sure that I had a wedding inspiration or style. I know I wanted a venue that was different and didn’t look like a ballroom. I also wanted casual flowers and dresses. I found the slate blue tuxedos and was dead set on having them. Everything else was chosen from them.
What are some of your favorite memories of the day?
Favorite memories from that day… Oh the whole day! Seeing Todd for the first time (what a relief!), walking down the aisle with my father, that moment after our first kiss and walking down the aisle with my husband, cocktail hour, dancing the night away and sharing the day with all of our family and friends! There was this moment during cocktail hour that Todd grabbed me and we started dancing to the song Wagon Wheel. One of our guests actually video taped it and it melts my heart to watch it!
Do You have any advice for other brides?
Advice for other brides… be bridezilla… get what you want and don’t be afraid to bug people. I think I was too laid back and therefore I have regrets from planning. It’s your day, rock it and make sure you get all those details you want. You only do it once!
Who designed your dress?
My dress was Watters and Watters. When I tried it on my Maid of Honor said “it’s romantical”. We know it’s not a real word but we embraced it!
