Hello my sweets, I have a very pretty autumn wedding to share with you all today photographed by Christian Burge Photography. Southern sweethearts, Kourtnie & Trey, celebrated their special day at The Chimneys in Gulfport, Mississippi.
From the Bride: I wanted my wedding to have an antique/rustic feel with a very classy element. I was inspired by one particular bouquet that I’d seen on Pinterest. I fell in love with the flowers because they were so different than anything I’d ever seen. No cliche roses or daisies. This bouquet became the center of my wedding planning. I found a florist who replicated the design with her own touch, and went from there. The colors were perfect. I loved all the reds and browns. The second thing I really wanted was the beauty of fall. We wanted to find a place that we could have an outdoors wedding and really appreciate the beauty of the south. Trey and I have always joked about “knowing” when you just “know” something. When I saw the bouquet, I “knew” that was it, and when I found the Chimneys in Gulfport, I “knew” that was it. We looked at about 15 venues and none could compare to the beautiful oak trees. With the beach in the background, how could I get married anywhere else?
How did you meet? My husband and I met through two of our friends. We were both single and they told us we would be perfect for each other. They set us up on a blind date. Trey pulled up in my driveway in his yellow GTO. I remember being so nervous. I walked out the door, I saw him standing by his car and instantly my heart was his. I knew from that moment he was the one and we have been together ever since.
More From the Bride, Kourtnie:
What was your Favorite memory of the day?
This is the hardest question I’ve ever been asked. I would have to choose between seeing Trey for the first time as I walked down the aisle and the feeling I felt seeing all the work we had done planning our wedding come together. I gave a message to my maid of honor to give to my groom. It was a quote from our favorite book. She gave it to Trey right before the music started for me to walk out. When we met eyes for the first time, nothing in my life could have ever felt so right. The second thing that was so amazing about my day was the way it all came together and all of my family and friends on both sides just being together. The laughter and the dancing, the food and the fellowship: my day was absolutely perfect!
Do You have any advice for other brides?
ENJOY YOUR WEDDING DAY! Nothing is going to go perfect, you’ll forget things, people will put things in the wrong place, and you’ll be rushed for time, but soak up every single bit of it!!! It only happens once!
