A chance meeting on Facebook and a proposal at the Magic Kingdom, led up to an amazing sunny summer wedding for Libby & Brian. Maine Tinker Photography was up – front and center for all the festivities and seamlessly captured all the luminous love present throughout the day. And the colors! I just adore their wedding colors! Rosy pink paired with navy with accents of yellow – be still my wedding color loving heart.
From the bride, Libby:
How did you meet?
Brian and I actually met on Facebook! Many people still don’t even know actually. Brian was going to school at Maine Maritime at the time, and I was going to school in Massachusetts.
Who proposed marriage and how did that proposal happen?
We were in Orlando for a work conference I had. Brian came with me so we made a little vacation out of it too. We went to Disney for a day, and while at the Magic Kingdom, Brian convinced me to go on this river boat. So while on the river boat Brian proposed.
How did you decide on your venue?
I knew I wanted to get married in Southern Maine first and foremost. I wanted a venue with both indoor and outdoor space, that had an elegant feel as well. We didn’t want the whole barn wedding feel or an outdoor tent, so that eliminated a lot of places. My dad had suggested the Woodlands in Falmouth and we went and both loved it. The ballroom was beautiful and had an enormous deck/patio that we used for cocktail hour and people could go out all night if they wanted. Perfect for summertime !
Where did you get the inspiration for your color palette and design?
I knew I wanted the guys in blue /navy suits and wanted a color to compliment the blue. I thought about a dusty pink, but found it too bland and too commonly used so I loved the idea of a deeper rosy pink with the blue. I thought they looked great together.
A few things you’re glad you did.
I’m glad we picked the Woodlands as our venue. It turned out to be just right for us.
I’m also glad we picked Siobhan as our photographer. I knew she did great work because of my brother’s wedding, and she definitely delivered!
What are some of your favorite memories of the day?
Definitely being with all of our family all at once. How often do you really get all those people together? Many of them live across the country and I rarely get to see them. Specific memories though, walking down the aisle and seeing Brian waiting there for me. He was trying so hard not to cry as we said our vows. It was really sweet. Also the limo ride to the venue. Just celebrating being married and being with our bridesmaids and groomsmen.
Do You have any advice for other brides?
I would tell other brides to try to enjoy the process and not become too overwhelmed. On the day of, you are just so happy that you forget worrying about all those silly little details. Also, I would say either find a venue with a great wedding coordinator or hire one. Toni at the woodlands help to keep our wedding on track and helped me along the way with figuring out import land details.
