Once again Black & Hue Photography astounds us with beautiful imagery – I just love this wife and husband team! They met up with Rebecca & Justin, a cute as can be couple, for an engagement session in the country.
From the photographer:
Becca & Justin chose to have their engagement session at her family’s farm in the quaint town of Greenville, Florida… and we couldn’t have been happier with their choice. We even stepped into the fields with their cows for a few photos, and the old rustic houses & barns were just perfect. Mix one gorgeous couple with one fantastic sunset, and I’m a happy photographer. Enjoy!
From the Bride-to-Be, Rebecca:
How did you meet?
We met through mutual friends and began a slow friendship via Facebook before running into each other again. The next time we ran into each other, he sent me a message complimenting my hair. We chatted more and more often and exchanged numbers. Eventually we were texting and chatting all the time until we finally met up for lunch, which to this day we still consider our first date, December 1 2011.
How did he propose?
I made plans for us to head to Havana (a small town about 10+ miles north of Tallahassee) to visit some of my family for lunch. He and I had briefly discussed taking some fun outdoorsy pictures later in the day (something that we enjoy doing). As usual I was running late, so I threw on the same outfit I had worn the day before and we headed to Havana. Little did I know he secretly left a small basket of “props” in the back seat of his car and had one of the photographers, Bryan, come pick them up and take them out to the tree farm to set up.
We departed Havana from lunch and shopping well into the late afternoon to head home, or so I thought. Since Justin was driving, he had control and decided to pull into the Havana Christmas Tree Farm since it was on the way home. I was very excited because I used to go there as a little kid and knew it would be great for the pictures we talked about taking earlier in the day. Once we parked, I “lead” Justin into the Christmas trees as he snapped a few photos of me. He knew where he was leading me since he was secretly texting with our photographer friends, Black & Hue Photography. All the sudden I saw several of my items from my house and knew something was up. To my left was a rolled up typography poster with my name on it that Justin had made. As I opened it up, it had one of my favorite quotes on it from my favorite band, The Avett Brothers. I knew once I read it,”Always know there is nothing worth sharing like the love that let us share our name,” that my life was about to change for the better. As I was rolling up the poster, I turned around to find Justin on one knee. He handed me a card with the question “What’s Your Deal?” (a sweet joke from our early days of dating). The inside of the card said he would love me forever. Then he proposed and put the ring on my finger. Amidst all this, Kelly and Bryan (Black & Hue Photography) were capturing the best moment of my life (so far). Tears were shed, smiles were shared and I was absolutely giddy.
What are your wedding plans?
We are getting married on November 22, 2014 in Thomasville, GA at Pebble Hill Plantation. Although I am still in the planning stages, we will have a rustic, chic wedding. Lots of natural elements including wood, berries and greenery. We hope to use rich berry and wine colors throughout.
