Gosh I love purple hued weddings, and today’s lovely winter wedding, seamlessly captured by Jennifer Weems Photography, is just bursting with beautiful shades of purple paired with silver. Newlyweds, Brandy & Kevin, were wed last December – the weekend before Christmas to be exact- and wanted their wedding to depict a wintery feel without being to Christmassy. They went with subtle winter accents of reindeer’s & snowflakes, stunning crystal candelabras dripping with crystals, pretty florals in shades of purple by Petal Pushers, a winter wonderland inspired wedding cake by Simon Lee Bakery, all wrapped in a beautiful wedding palette of silver and shades of purple. Coordinate This really did a fabulous job putting it all together, and would you believe me if I told you that the bride’s, bridesmaids and flower girls dresses were all handmade? It’s true and they turned out fantastic!
From the Bride, Brandy:
How did you meet?
Kevin and I met when I was in 6th grade; he was in 7th in the middle school band hall. We have been great friends and have held special places in each others hearts for years…roughly about 20 years! We have graduated high school, gone off to college together, and moved several other places after. Something always seemed to pull us back together over the years! In April of 2014 Kevin proposed in Wimberley, Texas outside of a special little log cabin complete with roses and canvases painted with “Will you marry me?”
What were your wedding planning inspiration & Style?
We both love cold weather so it wasn’t hard picking December to get married in, then kept our fingers crossed we would get some cold weather! We both wanted a wintery wedding, but wanted to steer clear of Christmas since we were getting married so close! I love all colors so picking wedding colors was a challenge…I wanted everything! However I’m so happy that I went with the eggplant/plum purple and silver!
What are some of your favorite memories of the day?
Where to start! The entire day was a favorite memory of mine! Everything went perfectly from what I could tell….from the first look between Kevin and I which was so special to have that moment between us, to my 2 1/2 year old ring bearer nephew tossing the pillow after he made it to the front, and sharing this special day with our family and friends! We loved that everyone seemed to have such a great time…even our bartenders and photographers were dancing!
Do You have any advice for other brides?
Hmmm….try as hard as you can to relax and take in everything you possibly can that day! It is crazy how it is over in a flash! Don’t let the little things bother you…you will remember the things that went wrong and sit back and laugh more than you will remember all the things that went right! Enjoy it…it’s yours and your husband-to-be’s day!!!
