Today I have a very pretty wedding to share in lovely shades of pink, accents of grey, with emphasis on the ever so popular spring/summer color and one of my favorites– coral. Sarah & Steven’s wedding, captured by Candace Jeffery Photography, took place at the La Bella Vista in Waterbury, Connecticut. This adorable couple’s wedding cake even had a custom made replica of their dog Bella placed between their bride and groom cake toppers – so cute.
From the Bride, Sarah:
How did you meet?
Steve & I were familiar with each other for years before we connected through our mutual friend Missy (one of my maids of honor). We were out one night with our separate group of friends and casually exchanged hellos and went our separate ways. Later on that night we met up on the dance floor and we’ve been together ever since!
What were your Wedding Planning, Inspiration and Style?
We didn’t have a specific inspiration but we really wanted our wedding to represent us as a couple. We love nothing more than hanging out at our home entertaining our friends and family, so we wanted to incorporate that into our wedding. Music and dancing are something Steve & I really enjoy and it was important to us for it to be a one of the focal points of our wedding day.
As a bride, I really wanted our colors stand out. I didn’t want a traditional white bouquet to get lost in our photos. We chose bright corals and pinks for our flowers and they really popped! We were so blessed to work with Candace Jeffery Photography as our wedding photographer and she captured our colors beautifully.
What are some of your favorite memories of the day?
The one moment Steve and I vividly remember is when we sat at our sweet heart table after dinner was served and our cake was cut. We sat together holding hands as our guests were dancing the night away. It was amazing to watch all of our friends and family really enjoy the party we had spent the last 18 months planning. Another favorite of mine was incorporating our dog Bella into our wedding cake. She wasn’t able to spend the whole day with us so our cake baker Susan Stone crafted our Bella out of icing to include her with our cake toppers! We both agree that our day was flawless from start to finish. We wouldn’t change a thing about our wedding day!
Do You have any advice for other brides?
Keep it simple. When we sat down to begin our planning process, we picked 3 details that were most important to us and we stuck with them. Our top priorities were an amazing photographer, delicious food and great music. We wanted to throw a great party and we wanted to have great photos to remember it by. As brides we want to dwell on small details, but things that may seem important to us can often be over looked by guests. Not sweating the small stuff will give you less to worry about on your big day!
