Today’s wedding captured by Miranda Lynn Photography, is an absolute vision in pale blue, blush and gold. Amber and Mike’s very pretty (but very windy) spring wedding took place at Castle Creek Golf Course in Attica, MI. The couple incorporated light spring colors into their wedding day with a beautiful pale blue as their main wedding color paired with blush, peach and gold as accents. As an ode for their love for baseball small accents were added like a home plate guestbook, and favors displayed in baseball mitts. The bride, Amber, crafted all the decorations herself: signs, seating chart and the most adorable twiggy centerpieces touched with a bit of gold and tiny blue flowers. Towards the end of the night the couple treated their guests to ball park franks and chips, while closing the festivities with a group rendition of Take Me Out to The Ballgame.
From the bride:
How did you meet? Tell us about the proposal.
Mike and I met when we were both out of town up in Traverse City, Michigan. He was there for a bachelor party and I was there for a bachelorette party. Both parties (who didn’t know one another) happened to end their night at the casino and we all were walking in at the same time. We ended up sitting at the bar all night and talking and the rest is history!
Mike proposed when he took me on vacation to New Orleans. When we landed and got to our hotel he sat me down and gave me a book that he had made. As I was reading the book I realized it that he had written down every memory and event up until that point in our relationship. After reading the book that he spent the last year writing, he got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife! Actually, the morning of our wedding he gave me the same book and had added many pages to it since our engagement. He plans to write and update it every year so we have a book of memories about our life together.
What was the most anticipated or special moment of your wedding day?
Our wedding was amazing from start to finish but the most special moments to us were after we were announced husband and wife we did our handshake that we made up when we first started dating. The was special because we do it often around our house so it was cool to look at one another and in that moment decide to do it. We also really loved singing Take Me Out to the Ballgame with our family and friends gathered around us at the end of the night.
Do you have any wedding planning or marriage advice that you’d like to share with other couples planning their day?
Relax and enjoy the planning process! There is no one way a wedding should be. It should represent who you two are as a couple and your personalities, don’t feel like you have to do something a certain way or have something in your wedding if you don’t want it. Make it special to YOU. The day will be perfect regardless if you don’t have a lot of fancy things because at the end of the day you get to share a life with the one you love and who can ask for more than that!
