There is something so absolutely fantastic when it comes to having a wedding at a winery. Maybe it’s the old world charm it portrays, the phenomenal scenery of endless rows of grape vines, or maybe it’s the whole package that makes it the perfect venue for a wedding. Because of all it has to offer, it is no wonder why Britany and Kevin chose Orfila Winery for their special day, and ArinaB Photography was there to capture every moment of it. I can’t get over all the beautiful vibrant colors shown through all the gorgeous blooms by Third Bloom –a palette reminiscent of a dazzling sunset.
From the Bride, Britany:
How did you meet?
Kevin and I met through friends about eight years ago. Him and I had always just seen and thought of each other as good friends. Then we had all planned a trip to Seal World with some friends. Our group of buddies ended up not being able to make it, so Kevin and I still decided to go. When we got there we had the time of our lives and as the day progressed it ended up feeling and being like our first date. This was five years ago and we have been inseparable ever since.
How did he propose?
Kevin proposed to me on the beach during our trip to Maui. We were planning on going to dinner at the resort next to ours. I had told Kevin that I really wanted to watch the sun set one evening that we were there. So as I am getting ready for dinner he kept rushing me so we could watch the sun set on the way to dinner. At the time I had no idea why he was so concerned to make THIS the night why we would watch the sun set. Half way to the resort on the beach we stopped and watched the sun set and just as the sun hit the water…he asked me those four lovely little worlds.. “Will you marry me”.
Tell us about the venue:
We chose Orfila winery for many reasons. First what obviously drew us to the venue was the beauty that surrounds it. The natural backdrop behind the wedding ceremony and the view from the reception area just speaks for itself. The wedding coordinators that are there to help you (Steffi & Tania) made our whole experience that much more enjoyable. They helped us our more than we could have ever expected. Any little “bumps” that came up the days before the wedding, and the day of, they simply said “don’t even worry about it.. I’ll take care of it” which is music to any bride/grooms ear when planning a wedding!
Do you have any advice for other brides?
My best advice to anyone who is planning their wedding now is to first and foremost to enjoy the experience! (even though there is many times you want to pull your hair out! LOL) Make yourself a timeline and a list of wants and needs (very important to separate those from each other when coming up with a final budget). Also the biggest thing that helped me out and helped me “turn off my brain at night” to sleep was to write everything down that I was thinking and to create and keep up with a “to-do list”. Making a folder with copies of everything also is a MUST!
