July 12th is truly a special date for high school sweethearts Rebecca & Tyler. It’s the day Tyler asked Rebecca to be his girlfriend, the day he proposed and also the day they were married! This cute couple said their I do’s last July 12th with a church ceremony and a celebration at Leo’s Ristorante in Warren, Ohio. They went with a navy & coral palette and included classic, glam, vintage details in their reception’s décor. Kristen Nicole Photography captured all the special moments and details of the day, including a fun group balloon release upon the couples church exit. I just adore the little hen-n-chicks potted favors- such a cute idea.
From the Bride, Rebecca:
How did you meet?
Tyler and I were high school sweethearts. He was in the drumline and I was in the flagline, he was a senior and I was a freshman. He actually asked me to be his girlfriend on July 12, purposed on July 12 and got married a year later on Saturday July 12.
What were your Wedding Planning Inspiration and Style?
For the wedding my true inspiration was creating a timeless look. I promised myself that I would go with my gut and what I truly liked, but also listen and take advantage of the advice of the experts because it turned out to be exactly what I wanted without even knowing I wanted it.
What are some of your favorite memories of the day?
It’s so hard to only name a few memories because I can truly say my wedding day was perfect, even the little things that didn’t go as planned I wouldn’t have changed. If I had to name some of the good memories from that day would have to be my dad walking me down the aisle, having someone you love so much walking by your side in such a life changing moment is something I will always remember. I would also say having all of my family and friends come out and support what Tyler and I have, and wanting to be apart of our day was an overwhelming emotion.
I remember when the doors opened to the sanctuary and seeing the entire church filled with people, and you look at everyone you know around you and you start to see all your close family and friends and then it really sinks in, you see how beautiful the church looks and how beautiful your bridal party looks and then you see the man you’re about to marry. It’s an incredible feeling of love and I hope that every bride gets to feel that on their wedding day.
Do You have any advice for other brides?
If I could give any advice to a bride it would be to remember what your wedding day is about, yes the dancing and celebrating is fun, and yes things will not go as planned, but it’s okay, because all of those things mean so little compared to the life commitment that you are making with the love of your life. No matter what happens try and laugh it off and rely on your bridal party and your family for whatever support they can give. Just relax, breath, try and take mental pictures of the important parts and embrace the love of the day, because if you’re blessed like I was, the only emotion you’ll feel when you think back on your wedding day is love.
