Good day my sweets! Today I have another lovely wedding to share photographed by Lennon Photo. Kristin & Aaron celebrated their special day this past June at Bedell Cellars in Cutchogue, New York. Because of limited time and numerous other weddings planned by family and friends throughout the wedding season, the couple by accident set their wedding date on Father’s Day. This however turned out to be a blessing in disguise for the couple, as it happened to be a wonderful way to honor Kristin’s father, a New York City firefighter that passed away at the World Trade Center on September 11th.
I adore vineyard weddings and just love that they chose such a cool and classic wedding palette of blue & white, with splashes of green.
From the Bride, Kristin:
How did you meet?
Aaron and I met during freshman orientation at Tufts University in 2005. It turned out we lived just a few feet away from each other on the same floor in the same dorm, and we’ve been together ever since. I guess we ultimately have the staff at Tufts Residential Life to thank for setting us up.
What were your Wedding Planning, Inspiration and Style?
I grew up on Long Island and Aaron and I were drawn to the idea of a vineyard wedding. We really liked the idea of an outdoor ceremony and reception in a beautiful setting, so Bedell was a natural choice with its outdoor spaces and pavilion. Overall, we wanted to keep things simple, and the vineyard was already a beautiful setting, so less was more with regard to decorations.
What are some of your favorite memories of the day?
One of my favorite memories of the day is when our wedding party came up with a choreographed dance for their entrance to the reception to Hall and Oates’ “You Make My Dreams Come True.” They planned their entrance just about thirty minutes before during the cocktail hour. It was so great to see our high school and college friends and family members become fast friends and have such a good time with it.
Do You have any advice for other brides?
My main advice would be to find great vendors as early as possible. We were so lucky to have such knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful vendors, especially the staff at Bedell Cellars and Catering By “A Small Affair.” They made it possible for us to enjoy our wedding and even the planning process, instead of worrying. Also, if you’re looking for a DIY look or other special touches, but don’t have the time to craft, Etsy is a great and affordable resource.
