Hello, everyone happy Monday! Today I have a vibrant lime green and hot pink wedding shot by Shoreshotz1 Photography.
From the Photographer: This was a rainy day wedding…Joanna’s bridesmaids were such good sports they ran out last minute and bought umbrellas in matching wedding colors and rain boots for Joanna! She such an amazing bride, gorgeous & fun & full of Southern charm (her & Calum have been living in Virginia where he is stationed in the Navy). Indian Pond made the call to have the ceremony inside at the last minute, and it was just a beautiful room for the ceremony. The rain stopped for a bit and we were able to get outside for some beautiful wedding party & family shots, then the night was complete when the happy couple were able to dance outside on the balcony under a perfect rainbow!
From the Bride, Joanna:
How did you meet? My husband Calum and I met while I was working for his parents at their ice cream shop, Betty Ann’s. All the girls I worked with always talked about how cute he was and how they wished they could go out with him. Well I’m not one to sit around and hope he talks to me. So one day he came into the shop and I decided to ask him out and we hit it off.
Calum joined the navy months prior to us dating and was leaving in only a few months for boot camp and basic training. We decided to stay together and wrote each other letters for a year. Once he was done with training he was stationed in Connecticut while I was in Massachusetts finishing college for the next 3 years. Now we finally are together living in Virginia!
Wedding Planning and Inspiration: Planning a wedding long distance was very difficult. We didn’t have our family and friends to help us and it was constant emails and phone tag with vendors. I really lucked out with all my vendors, they were understand and patient with all my decision making. Im not sure if I had inspiration for what I wanted our day to be like but I knew I wanted it to be fun. I wanted bright colors, lots of flowers, and fun music. Also the atmosphere of Indian pond country club helped give the day a centered look that we really loved.
What was your Favorite memory of the day? It’s hard to pick a favorite memory so I will give you a few. Seeing cals reaction as I walked down the isle was the most amazing experience it really made me feel how much he loved me. I also loved my first dance with my dad if I could relive that over and over I would. My papa passed in January and I wore his wings from his air force uniform in the bow of my dress and it really made me feel like he was with me. Lastly I loved sharing the day with our friends and family.
Do you have any advice for other brides? If I had to give advice to other brides I would tell them not to stress and planning because everything will fall into place. Also enjoy every minute of planning and savor the day, it goes by in a blink of an eye.
