Hey all, I have a lovely autumn wedding for you today snapped by Reese Moore Weddings. Pattie & Matt‘s green, blue and brown North Carolina wedding was abundant with beautiful surroundings and rustic details.
From the Photographer: Pattie and Matt said “I do” in front of a gorgeous stone gazebo next to a scenic pond at the Wilmington Arboretum. The beautiful bride wore a full, romantic gown and short, vintage veil, completing the elegant mood of the day. Flowering plants and stunning foliage set the scene fore their short and sweet nuptials, and the couple took photos around the grounds before hopping aboard their white trolley and jetting off to the Bluewater Waterfront Grill for their reception. Their friends and family enjoyed epic views of the water from the porch, and inside burlap table cloths were complemented by rustic tree-rounds topped with simple white and green floral arrangements. Perfectly mismatching vases, brown bottles, mason jars, and candles ran the length of tables, where guests ate their fill of traditional Southern fare before hitting the dance floor for one darn good party. As the night drew to a close, Pattie changed into a chic, short frock before the adorable couple dashed through a dockside sparkler departure to their getaway boat.
From the Bride, Pattie:
How did you meet? We met through a mutual friend but didn’t start hanging out until almost two years later. We both enjoyed playing pool so we played in the student union during our lunch breaks. The weekend of the final four (we’re both huge UNC basketball fans), I invited Matt to a sorority function. That night, we officially started dating.
Wedding Planning and Inspiration: We knew we wanted to have the wedding at Wrightsville Beach because both our families have houses there, and it is a special place for us. After attending a lot of friends’ weddings, we decided we wanted a simple ceremony. I looked at various hotels and a church but wasn’t sold on any of them. I found The Arboretum online and immediately loved it. We knew the garden would be a beautiful backdrop for the ceremony.
We decided to go with a rustic feel for the ceremony and reception because we felt it tied the garden and beach themes together.
What was your Favorite memory of the day? My favorite moment was seeing Matt’s face as I walked down the aisle. He was trying not to cry, and I was surprised by that.
Do you have any advice for other brides? Don’t try to do everything yourself. Family and friends will be happy to help! Try to relax and enjoy it!
