Happy Valentine’s Day! Goodness do I have the perfect Valentine’s Day wedding inspiration for you. Remember the movie Pretty Woman, the 80’s cult classic modern-day fairy tale love story that had women swooning over Richard Gere and wishing they were Julia Roberts? Can you believe it’s been 25 years ago this romance-of-the-century blockbuster hit was released? I can’t, time sure does fly by doesn’t? Well today I have a special treat for all you Pretty Woman fans. Andie Freeman of Andie Freeman Photography, being a self-professed Pretty Women fanatic, took her love for this 80’s classic one step further by creating a romantic, Pretty Woman inspired, Valentine’s wedding inspiration shoot just brimming with elegant details and a red, pink, black & gold palette.
From Andie Freeman of Andie Freeman Photography:
Our bride was wearing a stunning red couture dress designed by Mac Duggal and carried by dress shop High Maintenance Formalwear. What would a Pretty Woman Valentine’s wedding be without the red dress? It had a stunning fitted bodice with a heart shaped neckline and mermaid flair at the bottom. It was accented with a multi-tiered black fringe. She also wore elbow length black gloves and gold Sergio Rossi pumps that wrapped up her leg. The icing on the cake was the stunning pearl necklace provided by TK Anderson Jewelers. The pearl necklace is another essential for your Pretty Woman inspiration! Her hair was up in a modern side bun and accented with a black feather hairpiece.
The bouquet, designed by Hydrangea House Events, was an ombre design of white, pink, and red roses accented with three black feathers. The groom’s boutonniere was a single red rose with a small white feather.
Our groom wore a very traditional black tuxedo with bowtie provided by Perno’s Formalwear. It was the height of sophisticated elegance. Even Richard Gere would be proud!
Dinner was a fabulous affair provided by Delicacies by Amy. It consisted of Peppercorn Crusted Strip Steak with Grilled Shrimp and Blue Cheese Butter, Proscuito Wrapped Asparagus, and a flour less Chocolate Cake topped with Fresh Cream and Toffee.
Our dessert table was mouth watering! It was a shabby chic pink and white vanity with a red rosette runner. The centerpiece was the wedding cake of course. It was three tiered and covered in red fondant. Adorning the cake were white handmade sugar flowers, and it sat atop a gold cake stand dripping in crystals that matched the reception table candelabra. In front of the cake was a DIY “Be Mine” sign (cut with Cricut) with a red bow tied on the top. There were also matching cake pops and cupcakes atop a pink cake stand provided by Vintage English Teacup. The finishing touch were candy jars full of different types of red, white, and pink candies. There were DIY glitter tags with candy heart saying to add a Valentine’s touch to the table. These were made with a Cricut as well. Feathers and rose petals were spread around the vanity and all over the floor in front of the vanity.
The ledge around the windows in the sun room were covered in various colored rose petals. And behind the reception table was a Love motif with a moss heart hanging above embellished with ombre roses and a black feather.
For our reception inspiration table, we had a beautiful candelabra centerpiece dripping with crystals. Instead of candles, our candelabra held roses in many different colors. Beside the candelabra were crystal candlesticks with red candles. Our table was covered in a black table cloth with a champagne rosette overlay. To top it off, there were rose petals and pearls down the center of the table.
Our menus were an elegant gold design from Wedding Paper Divas that matched the invitation suite entitled Luscious Lacing. To top it off, the escort cards, which also matched the invitation suite, were displayed in a fork on top. The names were DIY cut with a Cricut on red glitter cardstock.
Perfect Valentine’s Fete don’t you think?
