Lauren & Austen’s special day took place in beautiful St. Augustine, Florida. Their wedding scheme was a classic-modern palette of navy blue, white, and green. Their bicycle theme, which featured the tandem bike, symbolized their love for one another and their journey. Add in beautiful flora, a stunning venue, a dapper groom and beautiful bride – you have a gorgeous wedding with vintage elegance at it’s best!
Thanks a bunch, Alex & Cammy Photography, for sharing this fantastic wedding with us today!
From Alex & Cammy Photography:
The ceremony was short and sweet and very touching. After the ceremony, we found some picturesque spots along the side streets of St. Augustine and were even surprisingly visited by a horse and carriage passing by (only in St. Augustine). The reception set up was gorgeous, with beautiful flowers and a bicycle-built-for-two theme. They ended the night with a romantic last dance with the White Room all to themselves and then rushed downstairs for a sparkler sendoff.
From the bride, Lauren:
How did you meet?
Austen and I met at a mutual friend’s wedding.
What were your Wedding Planning Inspiration and Style?
Our inspiration and style was mostly a classic romantic feel with a touch of vintage flare. We tried to feature the tandem bicycle because we felt it symbolized our relationship together.
What are some of your favorite memories of the day?
Favorite memories for me were…
1.) During the ceremony the minister had us turn and face the crowd to look at all of the wedding guests behind us. It was really touching and made us both feel encouraged to be surrounded by so many family and friends.
2.) After the guests had left the reception, Austen and I had a “Last Dance” to Eric Clapton’s “The Way You Look Tonight”. Although we had done a traditional “First Dance” as well, I found the last dance to be especially meaningful because there wasn’t anyone watching us, and it was a very genuine moment between just the two of us.
Do You have any advice for other brides?
My advice for other brides would be do not sweat the small stuff. It sounds cliché but it’s so true. Things are going to go wrong on your wedding day no matter how much planning and work you do. Just accept it, but don’t let it affect your mood or let you forget what that day is all about.
