Eden Gardens State Park Wedding|Kayla & Josh

Oh gosh, do I have a gorgeous wedding to share with you all today!  I didn’t plan on posting another featured wedding this week (since I’m going on a mini vacation this weekend), but I couldn’t help myself, I had to work this one in.   Kayla & Josh’s wedding was photographed by The Veil Wedding Photography, and features one of my favorite color combo’s – pink and gold with lots of sparkle.

This is what the photographer, Amanda, had to say about this adorable couple and their magical day:

The atmosphere and surroundings of Eden Gardens State Park in Florida could have come straight out of Nicholas Spark’s “The Notebook.” From the White house to the Oak tree it was a beautiful setting. Kayla and Josh are the sweetest people you could ever hope to meet and they are totally and completely in L-O-V-E with one another. I adored the couple and the wedding. It was definitely a Picture Perfect Wedding.

Now go check out the awe-inspiring pics below, and don’t forget to read the brides comment’s at the end of the post!

From the Bride, Kayla:

How did you meet?

Josh and I met in a busy restaurant right after he returned home from tour. Josh had plans to celebrate his home coming and I had plans to celebrate my friend’s birthday. While in the restaurant one of Josh’s friends approached me and said it would be a good idea for me to go “save Josh” from a person who was lingering around him. I couldn’t see what he looked like as he was turned the other way, and being an old fashioned type of girl I had made up my mind that I was not going to approach him.

After a little more convincing from Josh’s friend I decided I would walk by him on the way to the restroom to see what I was working with. To my surprise he was very handsome and for a second I had to convince myself not to approach him. As I left the restroom we made eye contact and he followed me back to my table like a love sick puppy. He has a different idea of how the story went and definitely a different name other than “love sick puppy,” but we both had the same feeling when we met and are living testimony that no one’s fairytale is ever the same.

What were your wedding planning Inspiration and Style?

Dreaming of my wedding since I was a little girl I had many ideas of what I wanted my wedding to be like. Turns out some dreams stay in your heart forever and other dreams such as pink polka dots change with time. I didn’t have one specific inspiration I just knew I wanted our wedding to be elegant and be a representation of who Josh and I were. My mom and I were able to plan a chic wedding involving gold, feathers and lots of sparkle while including Josh’s style of the outdoors. Allowing the groom to be involved in making wedding decisions is a very important and rewarding experience. His ideas might not always be your favorite at first but on your wedding day you’ll realize those little decisions he made added the perfect touch.

What are some of your favorite memories of the day?

Celebrating a once in a lifetime love with all the ones who mean the most to you comes with an abundance of memories. Getting ready with my mom and bridesmaids, walking down the aisle with my daddy, and taking communion with my groom for the first time are beautiful memories I will never forget. If I had to choose my favorite memory I would say witnessing two families become one is at the top of my list. Seeing our families dance together, laugh together and make memories together was such a blessing. People say when you get married you start a new family but for Josh and I we created a bigger family instead.

Do you have any advice for other brides?

Do not sweat the small things; your wedding day is supposed to be magical, don’t let the stress take away from the magic. Things might not go as planned, but don’t let the challenges overwhelm you. I was cooking potatoes right after getting in my wedding dress and although I was scared I would spill or burn the potatoes, I didn’t. I didn’t plan to cook the potatoes; it wasn’t in my wedding day itinerary but it turns out those potatoes were on my groom’s favorite list for the night. The key to a man’s heart is through his tummy and even on our wedding day I was able to use my cooking skills to get a little bit closer to his heart.
