There is no wonder why sweethearts Alice & Nick chose a desert roadside location for their engagement shoot location. There is just something so intriguing about the picturesque deserts in California. Wedding photographers, JEFF+AMBER, did a phenomenal job capturing the red-hot chemistry between these two lovebirds.
From the Bride-to-Be, Alice:
How did you meet?
We met while travelling in Peru, I happened to be in the same group as Nick and his brother for the Machu Picchu four day trek, and the whole group exchanged emails after the trip as friends. I lived in the UK, he in San Diego. Fast forward a year and a half, his little sister did a transfer year from a UC to a university in the UK, and he emailed me to ask whether the city she was moving to was safe. Cue more emails, then skype, huge phone bills and then a trip together to a friends wedding in NYC early 2010. A volcano erupted in Iceland the day before my return flight, trapping me in the States for a few weeks until the ash cleared, and I ended up travelling to San Diego to meet Nick’s friends and family. I moved out to SD at the end of the year.
How did he propose?
Two years later we went to NYC again for Fashion Week. On Valentines day, he took me for a carriage ride in Central Park, then we walked to the lake and he got down on one knee in a little gazebo by the water.
What are your wedding plans?
We’re getting married in mid-September, in a garden estate, and the wedding will be really casual – I’m wearing chucks under my gown – and we just want to dance and celebrate with our family and friends. Hoping for great food, lots of laughter and some awesome music.
