Happy Valentine’s Day my loves! I hope your day is full of love and special surprises from loved ones. And for all of you newly engaged, let me be the first to say – Congrats!
Alicia Wiley Photography sent me the sweetest and most whimsical winter elopement, and I just had to share it today. Carla & Carlos’s winter elopement is just bursting with love, romance and a bright and colorful palette of Marsala & red, and the most darling details. They said their I Do’s in their new home with their adorable son and only the officiant and photographer present. Their intimate home elopement proves that home is truly where the heart is, and elopements can be just as magical – if not more – as its wedding counterpart.
From the photographer, Alicia Wiley Photography: Carla and Carlos are both in the military and from Puerto Rico, they met in the ROTC program in college and went on their first date at the National Mall in DC. They purchased a house just days before they eloped, they thought their new home was the perfect location to begin their marriage as it symbolized the start of a new life together. The home was a blank canvas and overnight they styled a small little ceremony and mini cake station. As Carla’s was getting the finishing touches of her makeup done Carlos got himself and their son, Gio, dressed. The officiant arrived and Carla grabbed her dress & burgundy Converses to slip on for the ceremony, Carlos zipped her in her dress, and they were ready to get married! Their Spanish ceremony was intimate + sweet and after their first kiss they cut their cake and danced their first dance to Flor Pálida from Marc Anthony before we ventured out into the snow. Their yard was covered in a white sheet of snowy goodness and through the bare trees we found a wooden teepee made of sticks. They ended their wedding night having pizza with friends in Alexandria, VA.
