If you have been following by blog for a while you may notice I like to send a short questionnaire to the brides asking how they met, favorite memories from their day, etc. . And when it comes to the question about their wedding planning inspiration, one name often pops up- Pinterest. And I can see why. It’s literally a visual drawing board of endless categories and endless inspiring ideas. I even find myself stuck in the Pinterest-sphere hours on end. It’s also the very place that today’s beautiful bride (Megan) found her color inspiration – a palette of coral, grey & turquoise.
And with a wedding color palette of coral, grey & turquoise, Megan & DJ’s summer wedding at Hudson Gardens in Littleton, Colorado is just as vibrant and colorful as they come, and Rayna McGinnis Photography was there to capture every moment.
From the Bride, Megan:
How did you meet?
DJ and I met in high school. We lived in different towns, but we had mutual friends who introduced us to one another at a little league baseball game, where DJ was an umpire in a game that his little brother had played in.
What were your Wedding Planning Inspiration and Style?
My vision for our wedding came together through Pinterest where I fell in love with the color palette (coral, grey, and turquoise). From there I found our venue (Hudson Gardens) and knew that because of the beauty of the rose garden, that I wanted a simple wedding, so we could enjoy the amazing roses surrounding us.
What are some of your favorite memories of the day?
Seeing my dad for the first time in my dress was one of the best parts. He had refused to even look at my dress in the year that I had it before the wedding, I was hidden behind a wall so I had to wait for him to come and retrieve me before walking down the aisle. He started crying the second he saw me! After that it was seeing my handsome husband-to-be smiling as I walked down the aisle and cutting the cake. Our flower girl was so eager to eat the cake, that she had a fork in her hand and had taken the first bite of cake as soon as DJ and I cut the first piece!
Do You have any advice for other brides?
Remember to take a few moments with your husband before the reception begins! Our photographer told us to steal a few minutes together before going into the reception, and we were so thankful for that time because the next time we had that time together was once we had gotten to our hotel later that night.
