Having a blog named “Wedding Colors” you better bet I get super excited when I receive a wedding like the one I’m about to share today. It’s not only colorful, it’s also extremely vibrant! Cat & Buddy’s, colorful, fiesta-inspired backyard wedding took place at Cat’s parent’s house in Tuscan, Arizona. Their special day was just bursting with color and fun collaborated DIY details with family & friends. They even included their sweet pups in the festivities by dressing them in colorful striped frocks – so cute! Take a peek at this fun fiesta-inspired wedding by viewing the beautiful images captured by The Amburgeys below.
From the photographer, The Amburgeys:
Cat and Buddy flew in from Colorado to host their wedding at her Parents house in Tucson Arizona. This location was of special significance since earlier last year this was the same location Cat was proposed to.
The proposal is a magical story in it self. Both Cat and Buddy have dogs whom are their lives! One day Buddy frantically ran in to get Cat saying one got loose and they need to go outback and find him. Behind the house her parents own 1 acre of desert land where there are multiple little trails. One trail leads to a fire pit, on the way to the fire pit Buddy had lined it with paper lanterns with candles lit inside. Cat was confused but started to figure out this wasn’t about their dog anymore but something else. As buddy got down on one knee he pressed a button that lit a whole bunch of lights him and Cat’s parents hung in the trees around the camp fire. He asked she said “yes” and right afterwards Cat’s parents who were hiding lit off fireworks!! Now if that isn’t a story to tell I don’t know what is!!
For the wedding itself, Cat wanted to keep to a very tight budget since they are both living on a teachers salary. With Buddy’s family background being cuban she wanted a Mexican Fiesta feel, lots of color, lots of dancing, laughter and fun! She gathered the help of her friends and family and they created a perfect DIY backyard wedding.
There ceremony included a dog adoption ceremony, her uncle and cousin serenading them by guitar with a song wrote for them, a mariachi band playing during cocktail hour and a surprise get away car (cat and buddy had NO IDEA) which was a 61 Lincoln Continental convertible!
