Like the color’s blue and purple, but not sure if you could work them into your wedding color scheme? Well I can tell you that this combo work’s well together and beautifully, and I have just the wedding inspiration to provide it.
Kasey & Chad’ wedding to place at Paradise Cove in Orlando, Florida; it was beautifully put together by At Last Wedding + Event Design and captured by Sivan Photography. Their chosen wedding palette of cobalt blue and dark purple makes for an absolutely stunning combination.

From the Bride, Kasey:
How did you meet?
Chad and I actually met originally 13 years ago during our Freshman year at the University of Central Florida. We dated for a few years and then went our separate ways only to reconnect some 8 years later via Facebook of all things. When we reconnected it almost felt like no time had passed at all. We were still the same people but just better versions of ourselves. We both could appreciate the fact that we needed that time away from each other to grow up separately. I wouldn’t change a thing about our love story. I know without a doubt we found our way back to each other for a reason!
What were your Wedding Planning, Inspiration and Style?
When we thought about our wedding we both decided really early on that we did not want a traditional “Ballroom” wedding. We wanted a fun celebration but nothing too formal. Our venue Paradise Cove was the perfect place for us. It’s like a slice of Key West in Orlando! It is such a beautiful venue, right on the water, surrounded by big cypress trees and decorated with string lighting. It really was the perfect place for us to say I Do!
As I started planning my wedding I initially had a very hard time picking colors and coming up with a “theme”. It seems like everyone was asking me “what is your theme?”. I had no clue…all I knew at that time was I loved the outdoor venue and I wanted to use Hydrangeas for my flowers. Blue hydrangeas are my favorite flower and so I was all for using blue hues throughout the wedding, but ironically my husband really pushed for deep purple! Finally, it dawned on me to have a mix of bright cobalt blue and dark purple as the wedding colors. Marriage is all about compromise and this one turned out beautiful. My girls wore long Bill Levkoff dresses in Blue Horizon and the guys wore Dark Charcoal Vera Wang Tuxedos with Cobalt Blue Ties. The color popped so well with the outdoor venue and looked great on everyone! We added the pops of purple in the flowers and in some of the gifts we gave out. We had an ombre of purple and blue pashminas for the ladies as well as some flip flops and custom koozies!
For the venue decor, I decided I wanted to use a lot of candles and lanterns. Anyone that knows me knows I LOVE candles (my house is filled with them!) so I had to incorporate that into the wedding some how. And lets be honest, candles are pretty and they make anything more romantic and beautiful! I had seen a picture of another Paradise Cove wedding where they had hung lanterns with candles around the entire reception space by fishing line! I was sold. We ended up using lanterns for the Ceremony decor also. I even had a ‘Card Lantern’ instead of a traditional card box.
I also wanted each reception table to be filled with candlelight, so I bought a bunch of different size cylinder vases and different size pillar candles and votive holders for each table…including the cake table. The floral arrangements were a mix of high and low centerpieces that had blue hydrangeas and then pops of different purple flowers. They were gorgeous and really stood out against the white table linens! To incorporate more blue at the tables I used Cobalt Blue Satin Chair cushions and satin napkins and had silver chiavari chairs and silver chargers. And to finish off the reception space I splurged and got uplighting. We had mostly blue uplighting and then purple for the cake table.
What are some of your favorite memories of the day?
Overall the whole wedding looked beautiful. It came together so amazing. One of my favorite memories of the entire day was when we said our own vows to each other. It was really special and even though it was raining just a little bit at the time it was perfect. I also did a first look with Chad and my father. I am so happy that we had those special moments captured on camera!! Another amazing moment would have to be the maid of honor speech. It was hilarious. The girls did a spin on the movie ‘Bridesmaids’ where they tried to one-up each other the whole time…it was hilarious!
Do You have any advice for other brides?
To other brides I would say just enjoy your day and the planning process. In the end the day will all go by so quickly but I promise you will look back and think “It was all worth it”. Also, make a list of what is most important to you. The Music? The Photographer? The Food? The Flowers? If you prioritize that will help with budgeting and knowing what you can afford for each vendor! Oh and Good Luck 🙂
