Hello sweeties! I have another spectacular wedding by Regina of Regina Richards Photography to share with you all. She has sent me so many beautiful weddings my way, and I’m super excited to share her newest submission- Amy & Taylor’s whimsical wedding at Enchanted Hills Weddings in Springfield, MO. This wedding has a ton of cute details that I seriously had a hard time picking and choosing what pictures to feature. Amy & Taylor’s special day was absolutely magical from beginning to end, and to me they truly put the “enchanted”, in Enchanted Hills Weddings.
From the Photographer, Regina of Regina Richards Photography:
Amy and Taylor are a trendy little couple who planned a beautiful wedding that totally fits their personalities. Their wedding had a definite vintage flare from using vinyl’s on a record player during the reception to all the little details in decorations. Amy and Taylor also brought in some Springfield culture by serving the local infamous Hurts Doughnuts.
From the Bride, Amy:
How did you meet?
Taylor and I met through his work when I was 19. I used to go into the store that he worked at because I thought he was cute. Once I actually talked to him for the first time I thought he was actually very awkward. He added me on Facebook and asked me for my number. We went on our first date at a local coffee shop although, I did not realize it was a date until he paid for my coffee! Haha. We talked for hours and they finally said “Hey guys you have to leave we are closing!” And since then we saw each other every single day.
What were your Wedding Planning Inspiration and Style?
As far as my inspiration for my wedding I tried so many times to come up with a “theme” but nothing quite suited. So at that point I stuck with colors that we loved which were gold, apricot, cream, grey, neutrals etc.
We also knew we wanted lots of candlesticks and misc. vases. So we spent a lot of time in thrift stores leading up to the wedding.
I wanted the landscaping to be the majority of what people took in during the ceremony so we kept that pretty simple.
What are some of your favorite memories of the day?
Taylor getting his car stuck in the ditch and my uncle having to tow him out of it was pretty hilarious. He told everyone “please don’t tell Amy!”
I really loved how at peace we felt that day. Everything seemed to fall into place for us. It was raining on and off that whole morning and I remember before getting into my dress telling everyone that if it was raining we would still get married under the trees. As soon as I walked to the top of the hill to meet Taylor for our first look it stopped raining as well as for the rest of the evening.
Do You have any advice for other brides?
My advice for other brides is to just remember how silly all of the details really are. Yes, everyone wants that perfect wedding. But more importantly we want that beautiful, loving, and passionate marriage. If we spent half as much time working on our marriage as we did working on the details of our wedding, I think we would all have a better chance of a successful partnership.
Tell us about your dress:
I got my dress from David’s bridal.
My style is not traditional by any means, but my grandparents were not fond of me purchasing a dress online and living in such a smallish town I was limited on options.
When I purchased the dress it had a straight across top which was not flattering and I had always dreamed of a sweetheart style dress so I had it altered. It also has pockets! It was so convenient and practical. I also had them do a built in bra so I wouldn’t have to worry about not being able to breathe with the corset. Let me tell you, best decision of my life!
